Penerapan Model Pembelajaran GROUP INVESTIGATION (GI) salah satu upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Barat

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in Integrated Social Studies, especially in the material on international trade, which is caused by a lack of student involvement in the learning process. The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the Group Investigation learning model in improving the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Barat in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The study used Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles with 28 students as research subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the application of the Group Investigation learning model was able to increase teacher and student activity during the learning process and improve student learning outcomes. The average student score increased from 56.42 in cycle I to 78.51 in cycle II with the percentage of learning completion increasing from 28.57% to 78.78%. Thus, the Group Investigation learning model is effective in improving students' Integrated Social Studies learning outcomes.
