Abstract

Startup companies in Indonesia face significant obstacles in maintaining competitiveness and improving employee performance in the digital era, where commercial competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Effective leadership techniques are needed for startups, which are synonymous with dynamic and creative work environments, to manage human resources as efficiently as possible. A literature review strategy was used in this study. The information used is secondary data. By using keywords based on each predetermined variable, a literature search was conducted using Google Scholar. The search resulted in full-text PDF versions of up to 18 journals and 2 books on employee performance, transformational leadership, and startups in Indonesia. An organization's leadership style has a significant impact on how its human resources are developed and formed. In addition to providing instructions, effective leaders promote employee empowerment through coaching, mentoring, and training. Based on the research findings, it can be said that transformational leadership techniques significantly improve employee performance in Indonesian startups. It has been shown that transformational leaders can increase staff engagement, loyalty, and joy in their work by inspiring a shared vision, offering motivation, individual attention, and stimulating creative thinking.
