Peer Review Process

Journal of Educational Learning Ononiha (JELO) is a scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Every manuscript submitted to JELO is subject to a double-blind peer review process, in which both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers who have expertise relevant to the subject of the manuscript.

The peer review process is intended to ensure the quality, originality, academic rigor, and relevance of the manuscript to the focus and scope of the journal. Manuscripts accepted for publication will be published online after completing the editorial and review process. JELO accepts manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Before being sent to reviewers, all submitted manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism by the editorial team using similarity checking tools. Manuscripts with indications of major plagiarism will be rejected immediately. If minor similarity or redundancy is found, the manuscript may be returned to the author for clarification or revision before continuing to the review process.

Review Process

The editor receives the manuscript submitted by the author through the journal system.
The editor conducts an initial evaluation of the manuscript, including its conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, writing guidelines, template, and completeness of submission. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be rejected at this stage.
The editor screens the manuscript for plagiarism and similarity. Manuscripts with significant plagiarism will be rejected immediately. If minor similarity is detected, the author may be asked to revise the manuscript.
The editor assigns the manuscript to at least two reviewers using the double-blind peer review process.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and submit their recommendations to the editor.
Based on the reviewers’ comments, the editor makes one of the following decisions:
- Accepted
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Rejected
The editor communicates the decision and review results to the author.
If revisions are required, the author must revise the manuscript and resubmit it within the time specified by the editor. Manuscripts returned too late may be treated as new submissions.
After the revised manuscript is received, the editor may send it back to the reviewers or make a final editorial decision based on the extent of the revisions.
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and publication.

Review Duration

The review process generally takes several weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the quality of the submitted manuscript. The editorial team works to ensure that the review process is conducted fairly, objectively, and in a timely manner.

Plagiarism Screening

JELO is committed to maintaining academic integrity. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for plagiarism before and, if necessary, during the review process. Manuscripts with substantial plagiarism or unethical similarity will be rejected.
